In short

The Veterans Watchmaker Initiative is a non-profit programme in Odessa, Delaware, that teaches watchmaking to war veterans, especially disabled veterans, free of charge. Its full Watchmaker Program comprises 16 months of intensive watch repair training followed by a three-month internship, with competency tests for each module, a school watch and a final exam; a watch technician programme is also offered. The initiative states that it draws on the model of the Joseph Bulova School of Watchmaking, founded in 1945 to train disabled servicemen.
