In short
The Telšiai Faculty of the Vilnius Academy of Arts traces its beginnings to 1931, when a state crafts school with a joinery and cabinetmaking speciality was founded in Telšiai; after several reforms it became part of the academy in 1998. Its bachelor programmes are Metal Art and Jewellery, Design (including a furniture specialisation), Applied Sculpture, and Art and Interior Restoration, with tracks in the restoration of artistic furniture and of metalwork. The faculty, beside Lake Mastis, runs the VDA Telšiai gallery and a design innovation centre, and works with regional museums and companies.
