In short
The Staatliche Meister- und Technikerschule für Weinbau und Gartenbau in Veitshöchheim is attached to the Bavarian State Institute for Viticulture and Horticulture (LWG). In its viticulture and oenology branch, trained winegrowers and wine technologists can prepare in one year for the master craftsman examination and the state-certified 'Wirtschafter' qualification, or study for two years to become state-certified technicians, with teaching that draws on the LWG's applied research; the school also has branches in horticulture and landscaping. Its beginnings go back to 1902, when its predecessor, the Royal Wine, Fruit and Horticulture School, was founded in Veitshöchheim.
