In short
The Faculty of Applied Arts Schneeberg of the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences of Zwickau trains designers for both the hand-made one-off and the industrial series in its Gestaltung (Design) B.A., with the directions wood design, textile art and textile design, and fashion design, and a follow-on master's programme. Design and product realisation are closely linked, supported by computer pools and workshops from first idea to finished prototype, with an integrated practical semester in companies in Germany or abroad. The site traces the school's history in Schneeberg back to the nineteenth century; the faculty also runs the musical instrument making programme in Markneukirchen.
