In short
The musical instrument making programme of the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences of Zwickau is taught in Markneukirchen, in the traditional instrument-making region of the Vogtland, as an outpost of the Faculty of Applied Arts Schneeberg. The bachelor's programme has two specialisations, string instruments and plucked instruments, and the site also covers bow making; the 2026 graduation listed bachelor's and master's degrees. Teaching follows a workshop principle with a workbench for every student, in the Merz villa, which houses workshops, an acoustics laboratory and a library.
