In short

The Worcester Center for Crafts in Worcester, Massachusetts, was established in 1856 as the Worcester Employment Society, which taught immigrants, primarily women, to make and sell handmade crafts. Today it offers classes and workshops for adults and young people in ceramics, metals, stained and fused glass, mixed media, fibre and photography, and runs an Artists in Residence programme of one to two years for pre-professional artists in clay, glass and metals. Since 2009 it has worked in partnership with Worcester State University, whose art classes meet in its studios.
