In short

WOSTEP is a neutral and independent watchmaking training centre in Neuchâtel, supported by members of the Swiss watch industry; it opened in 1966 with a one-year course for North American watchmakers and became a foundation in 2006. It trains technical staff for watch after-sales service in two main fields, watch repair and the polishing of cases and bracelets, with courses ranging from a few days to two years, including watchmaker, customer-service watchmaker, chronograph, hairspring making, chronometric adjustment and train-the-trainer programmes. Through its Partenariat Mondial, watchmaking schools in Switzerland and abroad teach to WOSTEP standards.
