In short

The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) is a London-based registered charity and awarding body, founded in 1969 to meet the education needs of the UK wine and spirits trade. It develops qualifications in wines, spirits, sake and beer, from Level 1 awards up to the Level 4 Diploma in Wines, and its Level 1 to 3 qualifications (except the Level 3 Award in Spirits) are regulated by Ofqual. Courses are delivered through approved programme providers in over 70 countries and in 15 languages, and WSET runs its own school, WSET School London, at its Bermondsey Street headquarters.
