In short
Xiangyang Vocational and Technical University is a public vocational university in Xiangyang, Hubei; it grew out of Xiangyang Vocational and Technical College, traces its history to a teachers' school of 1905 and was approved as a university by the Ministry of Education in February 2026. Its School of Architecture and Design runs a three-year fashion and accessory design programme, opened in 1996, with courses in fashion design, patterns and colour, fabric manipulation, garment structure and construction, draping, 3D and CAD pattern making. The programme has student-staff studios, including a couture studio, and a national intangible heritage master's workshop for Laohekou woodblock New Year prints.
