In short
Yantai Gold College is a full-time higher vocational college funded by the state-owned Zhaojin Group, on Jinhai Avenue in Zhaoyuan, a gold-mining city under Yantai. Alongside mining, geology and engineering programmes it teaches gem identification and processing and jewellery design and craft in its Department of Jewellery and Art. The jewellery programme covers gemmology, JewelCAD and hand rendering, jade carving, wax carving, jewellery making, coloured stone identification and precious-metal setting. The college works with the National Gemstone Testing Center training arm on coloured stone and diamond grading courses and is certified as a training body of the Shanghai Gold Exchange.
