Ylä-Savon ammattiopisto (YSAO) is the vocational college of the Upper Savo education consortium, based in Iisalmi. In crafts and design it offers the artisan qualification with a restoration specialisation, taught in Iisalmi (Peltoniemi), which prepares students for building restoration work, mainly repairing interior surfaces and structures with traditional materials; studies combine contact teaching, online learning and workplace learning and last about two and a half to three years. An interior decoration specialisation is also offered.
