In short

Yokohama University of Art and Design is a private art university in Kamoshida, Aoba ward, Yokohama. Its craft course teaches metalwork, jewellery, cloisonné enamel and woodwork: after a first year of broad practical studies, students learn metal and wood techniques and make everyday objects such as cutlery and jewellery in the second year, develop their own expression and plan an exhibition outside the university in the third year, and complete a graduation work in the fourth. The university also has a textile design course covering weaving, dyeing and knitting.
