The ZeitZentrum Uhrmacherschule is the watchmaking school of the cantonal vocational training centre BBZ Solothurn-Grenchen, located at Sportstrasse 2 in Grenchen. It teaches watchmakers (specialising in repair or industrial methods, 4 years), production watchmakers (3 years) and watch workers (2 years), and trains full-time watchmaker apprentices entirely in its own workshops, where third- and fourth-year students service wristwatches and pocket watches for private clients. According to the school's history, it was founded in Solothurn in 1884 by the local trade association, became a cantonal school in 1972 and moved to Grenchen in 2002.
