In short
Zuyd University of Applied Sciences teaches design and making at its academy in Maastricht, which has eight specialised workshops for metal, wood, plaster, ceramics, printmaking, print, soft and hard materials, and media and AV. The four-year bachelor Vormgeving | Design starts broad and moves on to techniques such as silversmithing, ceramics, knitting, weaving, casting, laser cutting, 3D printing and woodworking, with an internship and a final project. The two-year associate degree Architectural Crafts combines modern techniques with traditional wood, metal and paper crafts to make test models, preparing assistant designers for design studios and architecture firms.
