In brief
The Diessener Töpfermarkt is a pottery and ceramics market held every year from Ascension Day on the lakeside grounds of Dießen am Ammersee in Bavaria, where ceramic workshops from across Europe present contemporary ceramics. According to the organisers, more than 170 workshops from up to 13 countries take part, chosen from up to 380 applicants, with an exhibition pavilion and the annual Diessen Ceramics Prize. The market dates back to a first pottery market held in Dießen in 1978.
