Ningxia Vocational and Technical College of Wine and Desertification Prevention is a public full-time higher vocational college south of the Sanshayuan eco-tourism area of Yinchuan, focused on the wine industry of the eastern foothills of the Helan Mountains and on desert control. Its winemaking technology (wine) programme group is a regional high-level group, and the college hosts the Ningxia Wine Modern Industry College and a public grape and wine skills training centre. The Department of Wine Engineering Technology teaches winemaking technology (wine production, analysis and quality control, tasting, equipment, wine culture, packaging design), wine culture and marketing (sommelier service, food and wine pairing), marketing, tourism management and food testing, with placements at Helan Mountain wineries.
