In short
The College of Enology of Northwest A&F University in Yangling, Shaanxi, was founded on 20 April 1994 from a grape growing and winemaking programme started in 1985; the college states it was the first in Asia devoted to grapes and wine. It awards bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees, its grape and wine engineering programme is a national first-class programme, and in 2021 it was approved as one of the first national modern industry colleges. Teaching covers viticulture, oenology, wine engineering and the wine market, with winery production internships, over forty bases in China and sixteen overseas practice bases in countries including France, Italy, Australia, Germany and Canada.
