The Dijon house of Les Compagnons du Devoir et du Tour de France, at 1 rue Jean Mazen in Dijon, is the association's regional seat for Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and serves as a Compagnons house, apprenticeship training centre (CFA) and branch. The association trains young people in trades through work-study, alternating periods at the centre with work in a company. According to the association's course pages, the Dijon house teaches the CAP in cooperage (tonnelier), a two-year course after secondary school, in which apprentices learn to mark out, machine and assemble the parts of casks, to make and repair them by hand or with industrial means, and to understand stave wood, its supply, qualities and drying.
