In short

The Texas campus of The Culinary Institute of America is a commuter campus in San Antonio's Pearl District, on the River Walk, set among the restored 19th-century buildings of the former Pearl Brewery. Its associate degree programmes follow the same curriculum as the main CIA campus in Hyde Park, New York, and are taught in teaching kitchens, a professional bakeshop and a Latin Cuisines Kitchen with indoor and outdoor cooking stations, a wood-fired oven and six cooking suites. The campus also runs classes and boot camps for food enthusiasts and student-run restaurants, with a focus on Latin American cuisines and food traditions.
