In short
Sichuan Tourism University in Chengdu grew out of a catering technical school opened in 1976; in 1985 it became the Sichuan Higher Institute of Cuisine and in 2013 it merged into the present university. Its School of Culinary and Food Science and Engineering, formed in 2024, offers bachelor's programmes in culinary and nutrition education, culinary and catering management and food science, and associate programmes in culinary technology and nutrition, Western cuisine and Chinese and Western pastry. The school hosts national master studios for Chinese cooking and Sichuan cuisine heritage.
